BARBECUE DINNER
Friday, the Sons of the American Legion and the
American Legion Auxiliary Dan River Post 1097 will hold
their monthly barbecue dinner from 5:30 to 8pm at the
post home on Fairfield Avenue behind Hylton
Hall. Cost is $7 per plate to eat in or take
out, which includes barbecue, baked beans, slaw,
hushpuppies, dessert, and beverage. You may
also purchase barbecue by the pound for $5.
The funds from this event will support the American
Legion Post, Veterans, and the community.

CAR WASH & BAKE SALE
Saturday, Dan River Middle School is having a
fundraising car wash and bake sale from 9am till 1pm at
the school. It's also time for sign-ups for
football. Each player will be required to pay a
$45 pre-registration fee to participate. The
cost covers league participation fee, insurance, uniform
and awards. The fee will be $55 after July
31st. Be sure to bring your birth
certificate when you register.

FISH FRY
Saturday, the Brosville Volunteer Fire Department will
host a fish fry from 4 till 8pm at the fire station on
Martinsville Highway. Supper will include fish,
baked beans, French fries, hushpuppies, potato salad or
cole slaw, dessert, and beverage. Cost is $8 per
plate with a child's plate of chicken tenders available
for $4.

RACING EXCITEMENT
Saturday, enjoy some family fun and racing action at
South Boston Speedway! USG presents Little
Caesar's Night! Mom's night out - $5
for all moms. There will be FIVE
action packed races! Gates open at 5pm,
green flag at 7pm. $10 for adults, 6 years
and under FREE.
